01 / About us
We started as a two-person framing crew in 2004. Today we are 38 people, but the rule is the same: build it as if our own family will live in it.

02 / Our story
Graham Whitlock started Plumb & Level with one truck and a nail gun. Clients kept asking him to finish what he framed, so he hired finishers, then project managers, then estimators. We still frame most of our own houses, because we believe the structure is where quality starts.
03 / History
Milestones on the way from one truck to a full general contractor.
2004
Graham and his brother frame their first houses for local builders.
2008
A client asks us to finish what we framed. Our finishing crew is born.
2012
We take on whole projects, hire our first project manager and open the design office.
2016
Office and retail fit-outs, with after-hours crews for occupied buildings.
2020
An audited safety program for every site, and we start publishing our numbers.
2024
A new yard and workshop, and our first net-zero-ready custom home.
Safety & credentials
Every crew is insured, every site has a safety plan, and we publish our numbers every year.
0
Lost-time injuries in 4 years
04 / Safety first, every site
Every site has a written safety plan, a daily walk and a superintendent with the authority to stop work. Our subcontractors follow the same rules as our own crews, or they do not work for us.
05 / Principles
Six promises we put in every contract.
The number in the proposal is the number you pay, unless you change the scope.
Fenced, tidy and locked every night, with a daily safety walk.
Dated milestones, and a phone call the same day if anything slips.
Your project manager answers within one business day, every time.
Dust walls, floor protection and a sweep at the end of every day.
We stand behind our work long after the final invoice.
06 / Leadership
Builders first, managers second. Every one of them has worked on the tools.
Founder & General Contractor
Started Plumb & Level as a framing crew in 2004. Still walks every custom home site at least once a week.
Senior Project Manager
Civil engineer and project manager for our renovation and commercial work. Owns your budget and schedule from signing to handover.
Site Superintendent
Fifteen years as a carpenter and site lead. Runs the daily safety walk and keeps every trade on sequence.
Senior Estimator
Prices every job line by line and visits most sites himself. If he is not sure, he opens the wall before he guesses.
07 / Site log
A few words from recent clients.
“Fourteen months, one superintendent, zero drama. Plumb & Level built the house we drew and told us about every decision before it became a problem.”
Rania Haddad
Custom home, north end
“We lived at home through the whole renovation with two toddlers. The dust walls worked, the crew was kind, and the kitchen is perfect.”
Priya M.
Kitchen & main floor renovation
“An 18,000 sq ft office in 16 weeks in an occupied building. Every Monday we got a look-ahead, and every Friday it was done.”
