11 / Questions

Questions we hear on every first visit

Straight answers about price, permits, schedules and living through a renovation.

01 Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a licensed general contractor with $5 million in liability insurance, and every crew on site carries workplace insurance. We send certificates before any work starts.
02 Do you work on a fixed price?
Yes. After design, we give you a fixed-price proposal with written allowances for finishes you have not picked yet. The price only changes if you change the scope, and every change is priced and signed before work starts.
03 How long will my project take?
Kitchens and bathrooms usually take 4 to 10 weeks, main-floor renovations 8 to 20 weeks, additions 4 to 8 months and custom homes 10 to 16 months. Your proposal includes a dated schedule.
04 Do you handle permits?
Yes. We prepare permit drawings with our design and engineering partners, file the application, book every inspection and keep the paperwork for your records.
05 Can we live at home during a renovation?
Often, yes. We seal the work area with dust walls, protect floors and agree on working hours. For whole-house or second-storey work we usually recommend moving out for part of the job.
06 What warranty do you give?
Every project has a two-year written workmanship warranty, plus all manufacturer warranties. New homes are also enrolled in the new-home warranty program.
